On June 13, Sustainable Energy Management International Joint Innovation Center of XJ Electric Corporation and Tongji University (abbreviated as SEM-IJIC) was inaugurated and established at “Tongji Day and Tongji-German Symposium 2025” held in Berlin, Germany.

Li Juntao, Chairman of XJ Electric Corporation delivered a video speech to congratulate on the establishment of SEM-IJIC. Fang Shouen, Chairman of the University Affairs Committee of Tongji University, Shi Qian, Dean of the Sino-German Institute for Economics and Management of Tongji University and Liang Jian, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management witnessed the unveiling ceremony on site in Berlin.

Li Juntao said that SEM-IJIC is an innovation achievement of XJ Electric Corporation and Tongji University in response to the new energy security strategy featuring Four Reforms and One Cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping. It is also an important milestone for China and Germany to deepen cooperation and seek common development in the field of high-end power equipment manufacturing, which will surely inject strong momentum into global electrical technology innovation and industrial upgrading.

Shi Qian said that there is wide space for cooperation between China and Germany in the fields of green technology innovation and mutual recognition of standards. SEM-IJIC will become to a new engine for Sino-German scientific and technological cooperation and create a Sino-European collaborative innovation model integrating talent cultivation, technological R&D and achievement transformation, making contributions to building a clean, low-carboon, safe and efficient global energy system.

SEM-IJIC will be motivated by global energy transition, dual carbon goals and the construction of a new-type power system. Focusing on technologies of advanced power distribution and intelligent manufacturing and industrial design concept, it will rely on the rich engineering experience and strong industrial transformation capabilities of XJ Electric Corporation and absorbing advanced technologies and concepts of European energy and power sectors to accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productive forces, assist in addressing numerous challenges faced during global energy transition and power system upgrading  and build an innovative bridge connecting the power and energy sectors of China-Germany and even China-Europe.
